Plan for Ecology provides Baseline Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Assessments.
Natural England provides a Biodiversity Net Gain Digital Service to register land for offsite BNG that will support the implementation of the Environment Act 2021. Land must be registered (register a biodiversity gain site) in order to sell biodiversity units. Our ecologists have surveyed a range of sites to define habitat type according to the UK Habitat Classification System (UKHAB), to measure habitat areas and condition, to calculate the baseline unit value of habitats, to identify enhancement opportunities and to quantify predicted biodiversity enhancements using DEFRA’s Statutory Biodiversity Metric. Our BNG Assessments have been used to successfully register sites with Natural England for the purpose of selling biodiversity units.
