About Us

Experienced Ecologists operating in Devon, Cornwall and throughout the UK.

Plan for Ecology is an ecological consultancy providing comprehensive ecology surveys.

Our company name ‘Plan for Ecology’ conveys an important message to prospective developers: save time and money by planning for ecology at the earliest opportunity when developing a site; avoid unexpected delays and associated costs, and achieve a development project that compliments the natural environment.

Plan for Ecology’s ecologists are pleased to be members of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). We routinely undertake Phase 1 Habitat surveys, Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), and Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA), together with detailed protected species surveys (including bat surveys, dormouse surveys, badger surveys, & reptile surveys) to inform planning applications and conservation management plans.

Plan for Ecology: providing professional, efficient & cost-effective ecological services

Plan for Ecology provides impartial advice, and professional, efficient and cost-effective ecological services. Our portfolio ranges from single housing plots and the modernisation of listed buildings, to large residential and industrial developments, pipeline installation, wind turbines and solar PV farms. We routinely act as ‘an ecological clerk of works’ and acquire European Protected Species (EPS) mitigation licences and Bat Low Impact Class Licences (BLICL) on behalf of our clients.
